Express freedom through deliberate response

Every day we have several opportunities to express freedom by choosing how to respond to questions, messages or situations. Often we make it a duty to give instinctual, knee-jerk feedback. However, we should not allow our lips to burden our backs. Like Selma, we need to be deliberate as we factor in understanding, timing and relevance. As we realize that we are in control of our response, we choose how and when to discuss, say or promise anything.

Attract true wealth

The story of Jack Witthaker confirmed to me that abundant resources without attendant wisdom may bring misfortune instead of happiness. Hastily cooked foods usually lack flavor and rushed results, even apparently attractive, can hardly be sustainable. I have come to the realization that we cannot pursue genuine wealth directly. We can only attract it through personal development and the pursuit of lofty goals.

Live in joy

As we develop and maintain an attitude of joy, we look for the silver lining in every situation. We also take delight and satisfaction in our relationships, gifts and achievements, no matter how insignificant they look. So doing, we spread joy and a positive mindset all around us. This attitude alone keeps our motivation to the roof and blaze a trail for harmonious interactions, success and victory.

Accept others

Accepting other people implies recognizing the dignity of human nature. Thus, we acknowledge that we have more in common than we may think. In fact, we are the primary beneficiaries when we treat others as we would like them to treat us. Acceptance and fair treatment build us better networks and enhance our well-being. Brian Tracy considered them as a gift, saying, “The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.”
